I don't think I'd used this for my personal collection but it was interesting to see the rating and shared feature for each book.

Thing 10 - Penguin Display
I tried my hand at a quick "magazine cover". It was easy to do. I can see how this tool could be very useful for scrapbooking, dressing up a report, those year-end family newsletters, etc.
I did a very basic design but with little editing it could be made as "commercial" as one wishes.

For me it is easiest to add RSS from the parent web site. This way I can keep my page fairly uncluttered. There is too much available and this method keeps me from cluttering my time, I'm only viewing the stuff I really am interested in - keeps me honest with how I spend my time.

Thing 8
I already subscribe to several RSS's on my Yahoo page. I like Bloglines as away to bring everything together in one place. I use the RSS feeds as a quick way to stay up-to-date with several groups and news sites. One of the RSS feeds I subscribe to is the library's. I wish it was more than just the press releases.

I would be lost without my MP3 player. I've only used it to download audiobooks from Overdrive so far at the current rate of two per week.

This wasn't so difficult to do and could be fun.
This is a photo of the Cascades Library former mascot. We used to dress it up in various costumes.
Here the mascot is all a-buzz for Spring
