thing 22

I've used netlibrary for ebooks. I use overdrive to download audio books because I have dial-up and netlibrary takes too long to download and I always end up loosing the connection and what has downloaded. But with overdrive I can download the audio book in parts over an extended period of time. I currently have about 10 books on my one MP3 player and 3 on my other MP3 player - have to save room for music and pictures. I think it is great that we offer this service and would like to see even more titles made available. As soon as I ditch dial-up I'll be downloading netlibrary audio books.

Podcasting could be a great way for LCPl to do a book talk. Then patrons and staf could listen at their leisure. We could explore the right to podcast some of our programs. I listened to several book discussions. It was interesting. I probably won't seek out podcasts. I'd much rather have the discussion with my friends - much more lively.

thing 20

YouTube is okay but like a lot of things on the Internet it can turn into a huge time waster. I viewed several different videos. But this one os of note http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFPRLNA9Tz0 and is dedicated to my co-worker.

YouTube could be used for training or recording programs or recording book talks.

thing 19

Naturally, I checked out the books category. There were no winners but several honorable mentions. I looked a a couple before trying out Reader2. The first title I searched came back with very childish tags (crapaddictive mental-illness smut). I may not have cared for the book but the childish nature of some who can stay behind the wall of the Internet was evident with this posting. I did search another title and was intrigued by some of the what to read next suggestions. From the list of about 20 titles I have read all but two of the titles but was suprised by some titles on the list. The reader's comments were interesting. I doubt that I'll ever use this myself.

thing 18

I used Google since I already have an account. This has been useful when I've not had access to Word. I've used it when traveling. I like it much better than OpenOffice. I'm so use to Word that I have to remember the subtle differences

thing 17

Don't think I'll ever use this. I'm not that interested in most of these blogs.
